Cape Verde's World Cup dream unites Providence
Campanelli Stadium in Brockton will host official FIFA World Cup watch parties later this month, highlighting the historic participation of Haiti and Cape Verde.
For the first time in history, soccer’s World Cup will expand to 48 teams in 2026, marking one of the most radical changes ever made to the tournament. Starting on June 11 in Mexico City, the tournament will be the longest and largest ever.
As one of the favorites, Spain will open the 2026 World Cup against Cape Verde this coming June 15. For the occasion, the official referee appointed to oversee the match will be Adham Makhadmeh. The Jordanian will officiate the match alongside his assistants Mohammad Alkalaf and Ahmad Alroalle.
